What I’m learning 🧠

The importance of setting fun/funny goals to offset your BHAGs (big hairy audacious goals).

Why?

Having a huge goal you are aiming at in your career can be daunting.

It can create a lot of unhealthy stress if you start taking yourself too seriously.

The solution?

Set an equally large goal, but make it playful and hilarious.

Two examples:

  • Tim Ferriss set a goal to create a men’s fragrance line (fun goal) while simultaneously aiming at having his book Tools of Titans be number one on the New York Times bestseller list (serious goal).
  • Shaun White set a goal to wear American flag pants on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine (fun goal) while striving to win gold at the Olympics (serious goal).
