What I’m learning about 🧠

That “no” is a complete sentence.

This is what one of my wonderful coaches often reminds me of.

Like most people, I struggle with saying no.

Sometimes it’s due to a fear of missing out on growth or experience.

Other times it’s just my people-pleasing tendencies showing up.

In either case, saying yes is always the easier option.

But I don’t want easy.

I want effective.

Shane Parrish says:

“Never say yes because you should say yes. If you choose to say yes, make it for a reason. Your reason. If you want to see how often you say yes for the wrong reasons, try finishing this sentence every time you say yes: I am choosing to say yes because … The first few times you answer this honestly, you’ll realize just how often you say yes for the wrong reasons.”
