The Easiest Way to Improve Your Life
Has nothing to do with doing the “right” things
I am not afraid to admit that I have an “I am enough” sticky note on my wall. I put it there because I constantly need reminding of that fact.
Without it, I start to believe that my value is based on my achievements. And if I’m not achieving, my inner critic tells me I am worthless.
This isn’t an invitation to my pity party. It’s to show you that even though love is one of my core values, it can be hard to find for myself.
Where’s the love?
There’s a simple reason why it’s hard to love yourself. It’s not because you are inherently worthless or broken.
You’re not.
It’s because you keep doing things that make you dislike yourself.
- You eat the whole dessert after swearing off sugar
- You drink eleven beers after saying you’ll never drink again
- You promised yourself you’d hit the gym this morning and yet here you are, reading this article instead
If a friend broke as many agreements as you do with yourself, you’d cut them out of your life.
Why would you want to spend time with someone so unreliable?
