The seven steps of a compelling origin story.

Shawn Stevenson always asks his guests on The Model Health show:

“What’s your superhero origin story?”

This is a brilliant question on so many levels.

It gives us (the audience) a chance to build empathy with the guest.

We get to hear what they went through to become who they are today.

If told correctly, we immediately admire and respect them.

If not, we lose interest and stop listening.

So how do you tell a compelling origin story?

Justin Welsh, one of the internet’s leading solopreneurs, breaks it down into seven steps.
